A four-month comparison shows growth in Google first-page rankings, local search positions, and AI-generated search appearances across Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Florida Medical News is part of the Florida Authority Network. This is a case study of our own client work.

A search visibility report provided by Brian French of the Florida Authority Network documents substantial improvements in Google search rankings and AI-powered search visibility for HCI, a healthcare training institution, between June 5 and October 6, 2026.

The report tracks 74 keyword phrases associated with nursing education, licensed practical nurse (LPN) training, registered nurse (RN) programs, medical assistant training, and related healthcare education services throughout South Florida.

According to the report, the number of tracked keywords appearing on the first page of Google increased from 16 at the beginning of the campaign to 74 on October 6. The number of keywords appearing in Google’s top three organic search positions increased from one to 16 over the same period.

The report also documents increased visibility in Google Business Profile rankings and Google’s AI Overview and AI Mode search experiences.

These results provide a measurable example of how a coordinated search visibility strategy can expand the online presence of a healthcare education provider across multiple local markets.

First-Page Google Rankings Increase More Than Fourfold

One of the most significant findings is the expansion in the number of tracked keywords appearing on Google’s first page.

At the start of the campaign on June 5, 2026, the report recorded 16 keywords on the first page. By October 6, that figure had increased to 74.

This represents a 362.5% increase in the number of tracked keywords appearing on the first page, or approximately 4.6 times the initial total.

First-page visibility is an important component of digital marketing because prospective students frequently use search engines to compare educational programs, investigate career training options, and find schools in their communities.

For healthcare training institutions, these searches can include phrases such as “Fort Lauderdale LPN training,” “medical assistant training Fort Lauderdale,” “West Palm Beach nursing school,” and “LPN to RN program West Palm Beach.”

The report includes these and dozens of related search phrases, reflecting an approach that targets specific educational services and geographic markets rather than relying exclusively on a small number of broad keywords.

The findings indicate that HCI’s visibility expanded across a wider range of relevant searches during the reporting period. The rankings alone, however, do not establish how many additional prospective students visited the institution’s website or contacted its admissions department.

Top Three Rankings Show Additional Progress

The report also records growth in Google’s top three organic search positions.

The number of tracked keywords ranking in the top three increased from one on June 5 to 16 on October 6.

That represents a sixteenfold increase in the reported count.

High-ranking search results can be particularly valuable because they place a business or institution prominently in front of people actively searching for a relevant service.

The October report includes several examples of strong positions for healthcare education-related searches. These include reported rankings for “medical assistant training Fort Lauderdale,” “medical assistant diploma Fort Lauderdale,” and “West Palm Nursing training classes.”

The report also records top-position visibility for certain searches related to nursing programs in West Palm Beach and surrounding communities.

These keyword-level results suggest that the campaign’s visibility gains were not limited to a single program or location.

Expanding Local Visibility Across Broward and Palm Beach Counties

Local search visibility is particularly important for healthcare training institutions because prospective students often seek programs within commuting distance of their homes or workplaces.

The keyword list covers Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Lauderhill, Oakland Park, Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs, Riviera Beach, Loxahatchee, and other South Florida communities.

The report includes searches for traditional nursing school programs as well as more specific educational options, including weekend classes, evening LPN programs, accelerated training, nursing prerequisites, and LPN-to-RN pathways.

This approach reflects a broader principle of location-based digital marketing: potential students do not all search for the same thing.

One prospective student may search for a nursing school in Fort Lauderdale, while another may look specifically for weekend LPN classes in West Palm Beach. A third may be seeking a medical assistant diploma near home.

Building visibility across these distinct search phrases can create more opportunities for an institution to be discovered by people whose educational needs align with its offerings.

The report also tracks Google Business Profile rankings, which are separate from traditional organic website rankings.

For the first reported Google Business Profile category, the ranking count increased from zero to two. The second category increased from four to 25, while the third increased from five to 14.

These figures indicate improvement in the reported local search positions. Because the spreadsheet does not fully document the underlying measurement methodology, they should be interpreted as the report’s recorded ranking counts rather than as a complete measure of local search traffic or customer acquisition.

AI Search Visibility Emerges as an Important Metric

One of the report’s most notable findings concerns Google’s AI-powered search experiences.

The report records an increase in keywords associated with Google AI Overview or AI Mode from one at the start of the campaign to 46 by October 6, 2026.

This is a substantial increase in reported AI search visibility and highlights an increasingly important consideration for organizations investing in digital marketing.

Search engines are evolving beyond the traditional list of website links. AI-generated summaries and conversational search experiences can present information directly to users, potentially influencing which organizations they discover and investigate.

For healthcare education providers, this creates opportunities to be visible when prospective students ask questions about nursing programs, training requirements, career preparation, and educational options in their communities.

Appearing in an AI-generated search experience is not the same as receiving a website visit or generating a lead. Nevertheless, tracking these appearances alongside traditional rankings provides another way to evaluate a company’s visibility across changing search environments.

The report does not independently establish how frequently the AI appearances generated citations, website visits, or inquiries. Those outcomes would require additional measurement through search analytics, referral data, and admissions tracking.

The Florida Authority Network’s Authority-Building Approach

The results reported for HCI are relevant to the broader discussion of authority-based digital marketing.

The Florida Authority Network focuses on establishing and expanding online visibility through search-oriented marketing strategies. Brian French provided the search visibility report examined for this article.

The HCI comparison illustrates several metrics that can be used to evaluate this type of strategy: the number of keywords reaching Google’s first page, the number reaching top positions, local search visibility, and appearances in AI-powered search features.

Taken together, these indicators offer a more detailed view of search performance than a single ranking or general claim that a website’s SEO has improved.

An authority-building strategy can involve developing relevant content, improving website structure, strengthening local relevance, and establishing credible information about an organization and its services across the web. The effectiveness of any particular combination of activities depends on implementation, competition, website quality, and other factors.

The supplied report documents the change in HCI’s rankings over time. It does not isolate the contribution of individual tactics or independently establish that any particular website, publication, or marketing activity caused the improvements.

Even with that distinction, the before-and-after comparison provides a concrete starting point for evaluating the campaign’s reported performance.

Measuring Marketing Success Beyond Rankings

Search rankings are valuable indicators, but they are not the final measure of business success.

For a healthcare training institution, the most useful next step is to connect increased visibility with measurable outcomes such as organic website traffic, admissions inquiries, phone calls, requests for program information, applications, and enrollments.

Comparing those outcomes with the campaign’s cost would help establish its financial return.

Additional reporting could also identify which search phrases generate the most qualified prospective students, which geographic markets produce the strongest results, and whether AI-powered search experiences contribute meaningful referral traffic.

A longer reporting period would help determine whether the October rankings represent sustained gains rather than temporary fluctuations. Consistent measurement methods and documentation of ranking locations, devices, and search conditions would further strengthen future comparisons.

These additional metrics would help transform a search visibility report into a comprehensive marketing performance study.

A Measurable Example of Search Visibility Growth

The October 6, 2026, report presents a clear before-and-after comparison for HCI across traditional Google search rankings, local search positions, and AI-related search appearances.

Its principal findings are straightforward: first-page keyword rankings increased from 16 to 74, top-three organic rankings increased from one to 16, and reported appearances in Google AI Overview or AI Mode increased from one to 46.

The results indicate a substantially broader reported search presence across healthcare education-related keywords and South Florida communities.

For the Florida Authority Network, the report offers a measurable example that can inform the evaluation of authority-based digital marketing. For healthcare training providers and other organizations, it also illustrates why modern search marketing increasingly involves more than ranking a website for a handful of popular phrases.

As search engines continue to incorporate AI-generated answers and more localized results, businesses will need to evaluate their visibility across multiple search experiences while maintaining a clear connection between marketing performance and real-world business outcomes.
